Shea Butter Soap with Lavender and Wildflowers
Recently I visited the metro DC area. My husband and I came across a quaint little African store located in Oldtown, Alexandria. I was originally drawn to the store because of the display of ethnic jewelry, however, I didn’t end up buying jewelry, instead I purchased Nubian Heritage Shea Butter Soap. I have very dry skin and have to use natural soaps, so I was happy to see that the Shea Butter Soap had ingredients that I didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand. This soap comes in a variety of organic blends. Choose your favorite and try it. Here are the seven simple ingredients which make up my favorite soap, which is the Lavender and Wildflowers soap: African Shea Butter, Lavender Oil, Lavender Buds, Vegetable Glycerin, Vitamin E, Soaps of Palm and Coconut.
Here’s the scoop on Shea Butter
Shea butter is a solid fatty oil made from the nuts of Karite Nut trees, also known as Mangifolia, that grow in the semi-arid Savannah regions of West and Central Africa.
African healers have known about shea butter for thousands of years: the substance is almost magical in its healing effects on burns, skin conditions, ulcerated skin, stretch marks, and dryness.
It contains beneficial vegetable fats that promote cell regeneration and circulation, making it a wonderful healer and rejuvenator for troubled or aging skin. It also contains natural sun-protectants.
Nubian Heritage – Humble Beginnings
Nubian Heritage is the brainchild of two New York street vendors who grew up frustrated by the inferior quality, high chemical content and exorbitant prices of products manufactured for people of African descent. In 1992 the lifelong friends embarked on a personal mission to produce high quality bath and body products, utilizing natural ingredients and traditional African recipes. Ten years later, most of the products are no longer made in bath tubs or kitchen sinks, but the Nubian Heritage philosophy remains the same; make the best products imaginable for our people, our family.
I hope you take a look at, and maybe decide to try out, some of the products offered by Nubian Heritage. I just love this soap. I had to give this product much respect as it is so hard to find soaps that don’t damage my sensitive skin. This is a great product for everyone.
Their website is www.nubianheritage.com. Enjoy and pass it on.
