Natural-Mystique.com was created so all women can enjoy, without guilt, beautiful exotic handbags made from environmentally safe, eco-friendly materials.  We want to help women understand the impact we have on our environment through our everyday lives; inspire changes that will positively impact our natural surroundings; and promote the organic lifestyle and virtue of an Eco-Diva.

All of our handbags are handmade from organic materials.  Weaved to perfection.  Unique in character.

Materials used for our handbags:

Agave (Sisal) - tropical American plants with basal rosettes of fibrous sword-shaped leaves and flowers in tall spikes; some cultivated for ornament or for fiber.

Bamboo - of tropical and temperate regions having hollow stems, thick rhizomes, and shoots that are used for food.

Bulrush - any of several large rushes or sedges growing in wetlands.

Cotton is a soft, fluffy, staple fiber that grows in a form known as a boll around the seeds of the cotton plant, a shrub native to tropical and subtropical regions around the world, including the Americas, India and Africa. The fiber most often is spun into yarn or thread and used to make a soft, breathable textile, which is the most widely used natural-fiber cloth in clothing today.

Hemp is a variation of cannabis sativa.  It is the most useful plant known to man kind.  In fact, cannabis sativa means useful (sativa) hemp (cannabis).  It is used to make over 25,000 different products, most of which are superior alternatives to less environmentally friendly products.

Hemp is genetically manipulated to contain no significant amounts of (the psychoactive ingredient of marijuana). Hemp is the longest and strongest natural fibre known to man.

Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fibre that can be spun into coarse, strong threads. It is produced from plants in the genus Corchorus, family Tiliaceae.

Jute is one of the most affordable natural fibres and is second only to cotton in amount produced and variety of uses.  The fibres are off-white to brown, and 1–4 metres (3–12 feet) long.  The fabric made from jute is popularly known as burlap in North America.

Palm Leaf - the palm family, is a family of flowering plants belonging to the monocot order, arecales. There are roughly 202 currently known genera with around 2600 species, most of which are restricted to tropical, subtropical, and possibly warm temperate climates.

Seagrass is an unusual example of an entirely aquatic marine flowering plant. It grows in large meadows in areas of shallow water, providing a habitat to numerous species from all phyla, including free-living macroalgae and microalgae, bristle worms, mollusks, nematodes, and many fish, especially white-spotted puffers.  It is estimated that there are about 60 species of seagrass worldwide.

Water Hyacinth - A tropical American herb, (Eichhornia crassipes), forming dense floating masses in ponds and streams and having large bluish-purple flowers and leafstalks with greatly inflated bases.

Our products are made in Thailand, Indonesia, India, Kenya and Uganda.  We are also looking to showcase products from South America in the near future.  No child labor is employed in the manufacturing of our handbags.  Only the touch of skilled artisans are involved in our handcrafted handbags.
